(Guttenberg, NJ) – Ring Teller Speak is a group show that examines the aesthetics of mysticism through the lens of devotion. Showcasing printed media, collage, sculptural objects, and illustration, the exhibition stands to consider the ways in which materials and objects often emit a sense of significance over its viewer, walking the line between command and entrancement. The exhibition will be on view from Saturday, June 21st through Sunday, July 27, 2025. Join us for the opening reception on Saturday, June 21st from 7 PM to 9 PM. RSVP at guttenbergarts.org/savethedate
Intuitively curated by Brenna Sastram, the show features works by Elizabeth Kaiser, Liat Guvenc, Sean Fiske, Eli Civita, Sofe Cote, Julian Medina, Marielle Morely, Mia Yamamoto Scherer, and herself.
The act of making is a direct channel of sheer devotion. Through surrender to material and process, fine art becomes a shrine to itself. It is within this dedication that works become sacred. In part, this exhibition functions as a reliquary- as a room full of sacred images and objects, imbued upon inception with a deep seated feeling of magic. Utilizing varying degrees of mystical and surrealist visual language within markmaking, symbolism, texture, color, and punctuation, these pieces transcend worldliness. They exist here as means for communication, devotion, and reflection- conjuring within their own material worlds, and reactivating within the external world around them.
This collection of works acknowledges the devotional practice of artists, examining the process by which something becomes inherently sacred; and, in turn, becomes an oracle for their audience. An ornamental tool that reflects their own thoughts, experiences, biases, and perceptions back to them.
Ring Teller Speak opens with a reception on June 21st, 2025. The exhibition will be on view through July 27th, 2025.\

Damian Quiñones is a Puerto Rican, Bronx born singer/songwriter/guitarist. His current project is a solo based performance (guitar and voice) of his most recent album "Sleight of hand in the material realm". The set is also sprinkled with a number of songs from his catalog and a few thoughtful and relevant covers to round out the set.
Armed with a small battery of guitar gadgets and a projector, this isn't your traditional solo show. Damian's singing, fingerpicking, percussive guitar, and improvisational techniques are enhanced and expanded by the tasteful use of this trusty pedalboard.
Damian's mostly hand drawn animation invites the audience deeper into the song and helps create a more experiential environment for an audience that soon will find themselves being active participants.
The music is as eclectic as a city street, Rock and Roll, Folk, Cumbia, Reggae, and Salsa Dura all mixed together in a seamless stew that might just pull you out of your seat and onto the dance floor.
