Sabrina Barrios is a Brazilian interdisciplinary artist whose work explores the tension between material, digital, and spiritual worlds, while delving into the metaphysical possibilities of the metaverse. Drawing from sacred geometry, quantum physics, ancient knowledge, and semiotic systems across cultures, she creates immersive installations, drawings, and videos that invite viewers into alternate dimensions and speculative futures.

Born and raised in Brazil, Barrios earned her BA in Graphic Design from UFSM (2004), and later completed an MFA at Pratt Institute in New York (2012). Over the past decade, she has exhibited internationally in museums, galleries, and public art events, with recent presentations including Em Toda Encruzilhada, Um Portal (Meta Gallery, RJ, 2025); Blue Lotus (Troy Glow, NY, 2024); Reversa (Farol Santander Museum SP, 2024); HoloDeity (Illumination Battery Park, NY, 2023); Corrente (Farol Santander Museum POA, 2023); and Portal Station (MACS, SP, 2022). Earlier exhibitions include Where the Sky Meets the Earth (Baku Biennale, Azerbaijan, 2019); Beam (Casa Amarela Providência, BRA, 2018); Birth(Pscheuench Experimental, Poland, 2017); The Horse Rider and The Eagle (Bains Connective, Belgium, 2017); Coup D’état (Staten Island Cultural Center, NY, 2016); and Yuga Cycle (Ca’d’Oro Gallery, NY, 2015). Barrios has also participated in the Fourth Bronx Museum Biennial (NY, 2017), exhibited at Anita Schwartz Gallery (BRA, 2015), and presented video work at the Museum of Modern Art as part of Abstract Currents (NY, 2013). Her residencies include MASS MoCA (MA), The Wassaic Project (NY), Fundación Banco Santander (Spain), Arteles (Finland), Bains Connective (Belgium), Kingsland Wildflowers (NY), and Guttenberg Arts (NJ).
