Talita Cabral is a Brazilian multidisciplinary artist and educator based in Jersey City since 2016. She is trained in fashion and visual arts, is experimental and generative, and is accomplished in natural dyeing techniques, textile work, clothing and surface design. She grew up in a city nestled between the mega metropolis of Sao Paulo and the edge of the great Atlantic Rain Forest, inspired since her youth by the collision of urban energy with the uniquely misty and moist jungle climate. Talita fosters a deeper connection with Earth as a means to gather and perpetuate ancestral knowledge. Through the process and rituals of manual color extraction, she cultivates an awareness of the possibility of a sustainable and healthy society.
